I draw presences in the dark that were not there before: wings, creatures, figures that last as long as the shutter is open and then vanish. Sometimes there is a body inside the drawing, sometimes only the trace it left. They are the beings the night lets me see for a few seconds.
The titles say what appeared in the dark: Asas (Wings), Crisálida (Chrysalis), Fênix (Phoenix), Guardião (Guardian), Mensageira (Messenger). In Aparição (Apparition), I drew a figure in the forest rising in cyan blue light, resting on a base of white light, like a night genie announcing itself. In Ritual, inside a round oca with the fire at its center, blue and magenta light turned the space into a setting for fiction without erasing the place, which is still there in the image.
The form arrives with the gesture and does not stay after it. The photograph holds the moment it appeared, in a single exposure, with no digital compositing. The series gathers 26 works, from 2016 to 2023.
